Pulse® WCS fork
Very high-end carbon-graphene fork.
The Pulse® WCS fork is a very high-end fork using technologies from motorcycle GP!
Very resistant and rigid, the Pulse® WCS fork is an innovative product, with an atypical design and having undeniable technical advantages. An instantly recognizable fork, stronger, more efficient and entirely made of carbon. To overcome the reliability problems inherent to the anisotropic properties of carbon (one-dimensional resistance), Pulse uses an efficient manufacturing process, allowing the development of thick internal walls. These walls provide significant resistance. We will use “3D Layup” technology, literally: 3D topping. Implemented on very high-end frames priced over $5,000, this concept arranges each layer of carbon in a specific orientation both longitudinally and transversely. Thus, the joints are crisscrossed, more resistant and offer better performance against deformation without breaking.
The thickness of the walls varies depending on the stress zone. Thus, on the steerer tube, it varies from 4mm to 8mm. The Pulse forks also include polymethacrylimide parts, particularly effective as a “sandwich” between two other composite layers. This modern material, used in aerospace, is extremely resistant, light and said to be isotropic (multidimensional resistance).
The most common impacts on a fork are frontal impacts. We therefore had to improve the absorption capacity of the fork. To do this, we have focused on a technology that has proven itself for several years in the motorcycle world: straight-leg forks. This concept places the front wheel axle in the extension of the legs. However, in order to maintain the offset of the front wheel, the legs are not parallel with the steerer tube but have an angle. Thus, during a frontal impact, the force of the impact is transmitted more in the legs to end in the fork T, the strongest area. The fork will naturally distribute the shock over its entire length, thus reducing stress on each area.
We also improved the rigidity and lateral strength. We opted to reduce the tire clearance in order to obtain wider legs without increasing the total width of the fork. A 20x2.10 tire passes easily, but each leg benefits from 9mm of additional thickness, which is not negligible. We have also increased the depth of the legs by 5mm compared to traditional forks. We obtain oversize legs that are stronger in every way while maintaining a reduced weight.
Finally, we have optimized the strength of the steerer tube while offering a headset adjustment system that is reliable over time. We chose to put a chemically welded aluminum insert. The inner tube reinforces this sensitive area while providing reliable headset cap tightening.

Important Notes:
Our forks are made from high-end materials in order to guarantee optimal strength and performance for the practice of BMX Race while respecting constraints beyond the official standard in force: NF EN 14781. However, the wheels are not indestructible, like any other high-end equipment, it is your duty to know your own limits and to ensure the maintenance of your wheels. Our wheels are guaranteed for 5 years against any hidden defects and manufacturing defects that have escaped our attention. If you damage your equipment by using it inappropriately, or by damaging it following shock, caused by sharp objects, twisting, compression, falling, abnormal impact and other actions beyond the control of Pulse ®, the warranty cannot apply.
