Rear Axle Pulse® 2024
New Pulse 2024 rear axle. Retro-compatible.
The appearance of the Pulse SLS wheels in early 2024 brings a major evolution on the Pulse rear axles.
The new axle is now in two parts, more rigid, more stable and adjustable.
This new axle brings the following advantages:
- No more need for tools to completely disassemble the rear hub. Disassembly in 10 seconds.
- No longer possible to crush the bearings in the event of excessive tightening.
- Can no longer be deregulated when tightening the wheel, where in rare cases, the axle turned which altered the adjustment of the hub.
- Frame stops increased to 23mm in diameter, on both sides.
- Compatible with all types of sprocket tightening nuts (external or internal key imprint)
- Offers easy adjustment of the bearing preload (tool-free adjustment in a few seconds)
- Offers the possibility of compensating for bearing wear.
- Allows the use of all bearings of the same dimensions, whatever their axial tolerance class.
Retro-compatible:
- Can be mounted on Attak, Elite, WCS and SLS range wheels purchased from 2020.
Supplied with a preload washer kit:
- 1pc of 300 microns thick
- 2pc of 100 microns thick
- 2pc of 50 microns thick
Explanation of the preload adjustment and compensation of bearing wear:
During the running-in of new bearings, or when the bearings wear, the wheel may take a little axial play. To compensate for this play, simply remove the left hub cap (brake disc side) by hand and put a preload washer on the axle, before replacing the cap.
The thickness of the washer depends on the amount of play. A small amount of play requires a thin washer, a large amount of play a thick washer. The washers can be stacked. They can also be placed on the axle on the driver side, before fitting the latter into the hub.
Using a washer that is too thick will slow down the wheel and increase wear on the bearings. In this case, use a lesser thickness.
